Turn-by-turn directions
Start at the car park on the A57 opposite Cutthroat Bridge at SK21648 87409. From here you can either follow the road back towards the Ladybower Inn or there is a an unmarked path near the car park entrance that goes up the slope and follows a fence line. Take whichever you prefer (the latter is more scenic and safer) until you reach the gate on the track at SK21367 87381. Follow the track until you reach the bottom of Hordron Edge and an unmarked path to your left at SK21381 87231. Follow this up onto Hordron Edge. Once on the edge follow the path to the right until you see the Stone Circle to your left just off the path at SK21525 86853. Once you have taken in the sights (especially the Fairy Stone) rejoin the path and follow it until you reach the junction of paths at SK21611 86224. Here take a left and follow the path up on to Stanage Edge at SK22529 86183. At this point take a right and follow the path along the edge for several miles until you reach SK24453 83563. You will see a path off to the right down and along the edge. This takes you to the hidden Robin Hood's Cave. You have to crawl through a gap on your right and drop down into the Cave itself. It is normally very wet so be prepared for a few inches of water. Once you have enjoyed the views from the cave rejoin the path and retrace your steps back to the path junction at SK23800 84627. Here take the track to the left and follow it all the way to the car park at Dennis Knoll SK22714 84344. At the road take a right and follow it to the junction at SK22589 84062. At the junction take the right and follow the road for a while until you reach the footpath on your right at SK21545 83951. There are 3 paths here. Take the middle one straight ahead an up onto Bamford Edge. Follow the path along the edge enjoying the views across the Dark Peak and Derwent Reservoirs. At SK20743 85878 take the path to the right at the fork (this can be well hidden if the Bracken is high). Follow this path until you reach a path on your left marked on the map at SK20981 86449. Instead of following the path on the map take the unmarked path straight ahead an follow it down until you cross Jarvis Clough at SK21375 86453. Once you have crossed take the path to left up onto the cart track and follow it back down to Cutthroat Bridge where you started and then back to the car park whence you came.
