Can you recover remnant ships Starsector? ›

Ships from allied fleets cannot be recovered in the post battle recovery options but may still appear as derelicts on the strategic map after a battle, which can be recovered. Exploration derelicts and Remnant cannot be recovered unless the player has the Technology skill Automated Ships.

Location: Travel to the Pup I system, a system overlapping with Sirius and to the west of Alpha Centauri. Upon scanning the lone, barren planet, a ship is identified off its dark side. Upon traveling to the ship you'll find yourself in wreckage with the derelict ship among it.

Once you start a new game with the Wrecked scenario, you'll notice a wrecked ship in the background. Once you restore your ship to a point where it can move, you will be able to approach the derelict. A new quest will guide you through the procedure. It will spawn in your game map once you do it.

Derelict show up normally when using active scan burst (or whatever it's called), do it mostly near some objects (planets, rings), because most of the time they are there. Don't forget to check out gates because often they have debris or derelict fields around them.

The AI Remnants are a minor faction hiding in the outer reaches of the Sector. They present a serious threat to unwary explorers. They are usually known as the [REDACTED] by the game's community, as this faction's existence is a spoiler.

Bring four capital ships! Don't try to match the Remnant fleet on a ship-for-ship basis. They will always be more powerful than a comparably-sized player ship. A four-tachyon-lance Paragon in the hands of a max-level officer will kill any remnant ship other than a Battleship or Cruiser in a single volley.

there are two types of abandoned ships. derelicts and claimable ships. derelicts can only be looted for resources and scrap. claimable ships can be claimed, repaired and used.

Usually, when you find a derelict ship just floating about, you can't take them. If you get attacked in a random encounter by pirates or something and you disable their engines then board them, then yea, you can take those.

The large stranded ship cannot be hailed, but you can board it by flying within 500m of the ship and choosing to dock.

Derelicts are found all across space, but Travellers seeking salvage opportunities can acquire specific coordinates from a local scrap dealer – for the right price.

How do you raid a derelict freighter? ›

You'll need an Emergency Signal Receiver to detect the derelict freighter. You can purchase one from the junk dealer on the space station, or once a week Helios aboard the Anomaly will give you one for free. Once you have one, jump into your starship and start pulsing in whatever system you're in.

Derelict freighters are procedurally generated, with no two interiors the same. It can be forced to appear by using an Emergency Signal Scanner. These devices can be bought from the Scrap Dealer aboard the Space Station (the price increases with each purchase, but resets each day - 5m, 10m, 20m, & caps at 30m).

Checking the orbit of a planet for some stations, that are only there for looks, can verify ruins even before surveying the planet itself. The more of those are in orbit, the larger the ruins.

You can use phase ships, you can simply kill the patrols with transponder off, you can hack the sensor array in the system which will periodically generate false signals and drag enemy fleets away, you can drag enemy fleets away yourself by either deliberately being seen or using a sensor burst nearby...

After each round of engagement in a battle, the winning side can automatically recoup some of the CR spent on deployment at no supply cost. The amount of recovered CR depends on a hidden battle total called "hard fought".

Running out of fuel in hyperspace results in the fleet being rendered immobile, as it is slowly pulled into the nearest gravity well. Ships can be scuttled as an emergency measure to recover fuel equal to their monthly supply cost.

The Prometheus is the largest Tanker available in Starsector, able to carry vast amounts of fuel at a supply efficiency unparalleled by smaller tankers.

If you run out of fuel you will end up trapped in 1 system until you either acquire enough fuel to leave & travel somewhere else. Or scuttle your last ship and take the RNG express back to the core & end up with a random replacement ship.
